Member of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngology, American Medical Association, Ukrainian Medical Association of North America and others. Editor of the Journal of Ukrainian Medical Association, Subject Editor of the Encyclopedia of Ukraine, Toronto, Canada. Editor of the Ukrainian Edition of Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary and Member of the Editorial Board of the Ukrainian Edition of the Atlas of Human Anatomy by F. Netter. Bearer of the “Medal of Merits”, bestowed by the President of Ukraine (2001). Author of numerous publications.

Lubomyr A. Lypeckyj

Executive Vice President

Born in Drohobych, Ukraine. Completed Gymansium (High School) in Bayreuth, Germany. Obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and Master of Arts in Business administration from Central Michigan University, Mt Pleasant, Michigan. He worked at Ford Motor Co., R C Mahon Co., Square D Co., Chrysler Corp and Technical Center of General Motors Corp. Presently, he works in the Project Manager's Office on the Abrams Main Battle Tank for the United States Army. His community activities included Plast, Ukrainian Scouting Organization as Stanychnyj of the Detroit Branch and Holova Taboru (Camp Leader) in Brighton, Michigan; Ukrainian Arts Society; Board of Directors Chairman and long time member of Warren Symphony Orchestra, Ukrainian Association Samopomich; Ukrainian Cultural Club; Member of Detroit Concert Committee to Commemorate Millennium of Christianity in Ukraine. Long time member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ukrainian Selfreliance Michigan Federal Credit Union. Member and Editor of Ukrainian Metro Newspaper – Detroitski Novyny.

Holds degrees in accounting and business administration. Started his professional career with General Motors and continued for 35 years with Ford Motor Company. He held analytical, managerial and controllership positions in domestic and overseas operations. Active in various community organizations and projects prior and since his retirement in 1990.

Hon. Lubomyr M. Jachnycky

Director

U.S. Administrative Law Judge, from 1990 - present. Prior to judicial appointment, worked from 1973 to 1990 as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C., in staff and litigation positions. Notable cases include serving as defense counsel in Hedrick Smith v. Nixon and Halperin v. Kissinger (constitutional tort cases seeking punitive damages for national security wiretaps), and as counsel in Daughtrey v. Carter (challenge to President Carter's Proclamation pardoning draft evaders during the Vietnam War era). Served as member of the prosecution team in United States v. Enger , an espionage case against two Russian nationals assigned to the United Nations. Their convictions later resulted in their trade for several Soviet dissidents, including Valentin Moroz, a Ukrainian dissident. Co-author of articles on national security law published in the Judge's Journal , a publication of the American Bar Association. Also served as member of U.S. Department of State Judicial Delegation to Ukraine in 1993. Since 2007, serve as Chairman of the Bishop's Advisory Board, Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Chicago. Previously served as Chairman of the Eparchy's Review Board from 2003-2007. Vietnam veteran, awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Received B.A. from Providence College, M.A. from Georgetown University, and J.D. from the University of Notre Dame.

Boris J. Leheta, M.D.

Director

Dr. Leheta completed his undergraduate work at Wayne State University, then in 1983 received his medical degree from Nikolaus Copernicus Academy of Medicine in Krakow, Poland (Jagiellonian University Medical College). His postgraduate education included training in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac, Michigan, Residency in Neurology at University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, from 1986 to 1989, and a fellowship in epilepsy and neurophysiology at Rush Presbyterian - St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois, from 1989 to 1990. During his training as an epileptologist, he received several honors, including the junior Investigator Travel Awardee of the American Epilepsy Society (1990) and the Epilepsy Foundation of America, Merritt Putnam Clinical Research Fellowship Award (1988). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Society of Neuroimaging Comprehensive Neurosonology examination, Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA) Executive Committee- secretary (2005-2007). In addition to his appointment as President of Michigan Neurology Institute, he is Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan.

Bohdan M. Pichurko, M.D.

Director

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Pichurko completed Baccalaureate studies Magna cum Laude at the University of Notre Dame. Following receipt of a Doctor of Medicine from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, he received Internal Medicine training as Resident and Chief Medical Resident at the U. of Illinois. Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital was followed by a faculty appointment to the Harvard Medical School. During this period, he was named the first Shipley Fellow in Pulmonary Research, and was awarded the competitive Parker B. Francis Fellowship to support his Asthma investigation. In Detroit, Dr. Pichurko was appointed Director of Pulmonary Fellowship and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Sinai Hospital, and is currently Chief of Pulmonary Medicine and Director of Respiratory Therapy at Providence Hospital. A research project defining the influence of Pleural Pressure on PFT recordings received the ACCP Young Investigator Award in 1997. Author of over 75 published original articles, abstracts and chapters on asthma and cystic fibrosis, Dr. Pichurko is Associate Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University.
